Jon- Founder & Technician

Jon started Holdfast Marine in 2018. He is a Bellingham local who has been on the water most his life. Jon has run whale watching boats, guided kayak tours and professionally repaired boats for the past 15 years. He has his 100 ton captains license as well as ABYC certifications. He has a 45' sailboat understands why having a reliable vessel is important. To get away from time to time you'll find Jon in the woods or hiking up to a good view in the mountains

Will- Technician

Will grew up in Bellingham where he gained an appreciation for all things mechanical and boat adjacent. He spent years as a merchant mariner serving on tugs, ferries, and cruise ships where he worked as an engineer.  Without missing a beat, Will is capable of troubleshooting comprehensive marine system issues and have a detailed solution identified. He is ABYC electrical certified.
In his off time, Will can be found seeking out 'type II' fun out  riding his dirt bike, dropping crab pots, and climbing up mountains with friends.

Riley- Technician

Riley is an ABYC certified technician, having attended the Northwest Wooden Boat Schools' systems program. He is an avid sailor and racer, and brings that knowledge with him whenever rigging is involved. In his off time you might find him on his bike in the hills around town.

Eric- Technician

Eric came to Holdfast in 2022, after retiring from a 28 year career as a  fire boat captain as well as retired from the US Navy where he worked as a gas turbine engine technician. Eric recently graduated from the Marine Maintenance Technology program at SVCC, where he has dedicated himself to learning as much as he could about boat mechanics, especially enjoying the electrical side. He is ABYC certified in electrical. Eric's hobbies include working on boats & vintage cars, boating, traveling, hiking and spending time with family.

Eros- Apprentice

Eros is attending the Working Waterfront Coalitions marine apprenticeship program, where he will become a journeyman level marine technician. In the meantime he is a detailing expert. Whether its oxidized gel-coat, or bottom paint blisters he knows just how to get your boat looking great. When hes not working on boats, he's up at Mt baker hoping for some fresh powder. 

Dani - Apprentice

Dani is a sailor who grew up boating. In the past she has taught youth sailing with the BYC. She is also attending the Working Waterfront Coalitions marine apprenticeship program to eventually be a journey level marine technician. Dani is an expert detailer, a checkout skipper at a local charter company and helps with office support here at Holdfast.

Drawing on everyone’s unique experience and dedication to maritime lifestyles, we are able to service any and all shipboard systems including electrical, electronics, engines, gensets, water makers, rigging, plumbing, painting, diesel engines, outboards, mechanical gear, fiberglass repair and everything in between.
